Paul Edney is the co-author of the Canadian bestseller Change the World for Ten Bucks – 50 actions to change the world and make you feel great.

He launched the not-for-profit book in 2006 with New Society Publishers. Since then, he has been dedicated to empowering and inspiring people and communities to change the world.

After a 10 year stint in England’s advertising and telecoms world, ending his career there as Group Head of Corporate Articulation at Orange Plc., Paul moved to Nelson BC with his wife and 2 children in late 2004.

That Christmas a UK book called Change the World for a Fiver fell into his lap. He read it cover to cover in one sitting.

After reading it, Paul was euphoric. Finally someone had approached the environmental and social issues that our society faces and applied some creativity to them. The ever present alarmism and guilt usually associated with these issues had disappeared and been replaced by inspiration, empowerment and a sense of humour.

Paul quickly completed Action 35 from the book – write to someone who inspired you and asked to re-write the book for Canada. Change The World for Ten Bucks launched in Oct 2006. The book made the top 10 best sellers list in Jan ’07 and sold over 25,000 copies in its first year in print.

In late 2008 Paul launched “Inspire Enterprise” a new company dedicated to inspiring people to change the world at work. The Inspire Enterprise program includes a workbook “30 small actions in your workday that have a BIG impact”, an online ‘ActionTracker’ which tracks actions employees are doing and calculates the impact from an environmental and social perspective and other tools and services that inform, engage and motivate people in the workplace.

Paul’s presentations take a ‘can do’ approach and as he weaves together the importance of connection to ourselves, each other and the planet within the corporate context he doesn’t lose sight of the bottom line. His fundamental message is that changing the world makes business sense.

Paul has spoken at a number of events including:
